Relationships and other shinnagins

Sooo in 2013 I moved to a large city in North Carolina, started a new job and left my ex. My relationship with my ex is documented in all posts written prior to 2018. She never came to visit me. it was a one-sided disaster I learned a lot from that relationship and moved on. I meet a nice woman in 2014 and we dated, she called it a situationship. It didn't work out..we acted like we had a relationship without the commitment, she went on to marry someone else 2 months after we weren't in a situationship. Go figure.

I meet my current girlfriend 2 years later. We have been through quite a bit..mostly because in 2016 I questioned my sexuality and faith. I had a crisis of self and went through a long summer of self-reflection, faith building, and honesty. I was able to make amends with my current girlfriend and we are happy. We have our share of struggles...yet, the love keeps us working on ourselves individually which makes the relationship stronger.

Now, how did I end up in AA..that's up next...

Moving along...

Well things are... moving along. My relationship is in good standing, seems like we have finally gotten to the place where we understand each other much better, and we are able to communicate our feelings easier. That is actually a HUGE bonus. She has alot going on right now, and I'm showing her plenty of support. Ive been really busy with work, and other projects. Looking forward to the upcoming holidays with my family and friends. I'm very concerned about what my partner is going through with her family right now. As I said earlier I'm being supportive, you know helping her through all of it. I'm worried about how things might impact the relationship at some point. I hope I'm not being selfish, but it's an observation. She may even have to change her current living arrangement. All I can do is hope that things work out for her, and then for us. NYC Birthday!

My partner took me to NYC for my birthday on February 12. When we first arrived, I was in awe, as our hotel was right in the middle of downtown NYC and although it was 12 midnight...it was after all the city that never sleeps and the hustle and bustle was on. I saw people walking, talking, and waiting in line at Foot Locker. I snapped this picture as we arrived, its the Empire State Building.  The next morning, I woke up, and I was bouncing in the bed with excitement. I was ready to hit the city and find an adventure. And I did, my partner dropped me off (parking doesn't exist, LOL) at the nearest Star Bucks so I could make the coffee run, the closest one was in Times Square! I stepped into Times Square and my jaw dropped, the full color billboards, the taxi's honking, and hundreds of people swarmed around me.
